Mike spent 25 years at sea, serving on board dry cargo, bulk carriers and oil tankers (up to 230,000 tons deadweight capacity) up to the rank of Master. He spent the last 10 years as Master on 100,000 to 230,000 tons oil tankers.

The next 15 years were spent ashore with Texaco Overseas Tankship Ltd (Assistant Marine Superintendent), Rowbotham Tankships Ltd and Seatramp (UK) Ltd (as Marine Superintendent).

Mike spent 5 years as an Independent Superintendent (Seatramp and APC Ltd) and is currently employed by APC Ltd, conducting surveys and investigations for Ship owners, P & I, Charterers, Cargo owners and Underwriters, into oil losses and contaminations. He has provided Expert Testimony in Arbitration Hearings.

He has extensive experience in the various programs necessary to achieve "approval" of fleet vessels for trading, on behalf of all Major Oil Companies.
