Dave has 19 years experience in Analytical Chemistry, with in-depth knowledge of petroleum, petrochemical and LPG analysis, contamination and pollution analysis, relating to marine transportation.

He was originally employed by Caleb Brett and served as LABORATORY CHEMIST (Aberdeen) and LABORATORY MANAGER (Houston) between 1980 and 1983.
He joined T.J. Gunner & Sons Ltd in 1983 and was employed as a CHEMIST SURVEYOR & CONSULTANT.

In 1986 he became a DIRECTOR of that company, before becoming MANAGING DIRECTOR in 1988. From 1988 until 1992 he operated as an independent consultant for T.J. Gunner & Sons Ltd.

In 1992 he was employed by APC Limited, as a CONSULTANT CHEMIST, and has operated in that capacity up to date. He was co-author of Lloyds of London Press Ltd publication "The Carriage of Crude Oil by Sea" (Gunner & Edwards).

He specialises in the contamination of Jet Fuels and Bunker Fuels.
