John has 11 years sea-going experience with P&O Steam Navigation Company from ENGINEER CADET to SENIOR ENGINEER OFFICER, serving on Passenger, General Cargo and Container ships.

He has 5 years experience as DIRECTOR and ENGINEERING SURVEYOR for an independent consultancy company, conducting machinery and structural damage surveys world-wide, together with the supervision of new ship building.

He has 18 years experience as TECHNICAL DIRECTOR in a shipping company, responsible for purchase and sale evaluation of ships, conversion and deployment of ULCC's and VLCC's, all phases of engineering and structural management of company's ships.

John served with P&O from 1967 to 1978. After coming ashore in 1979, he was employed by Aalborg Marine Ltd (Aalmar Surveys Ltd) until 1984 (DIRECTOR and SURVEYOR). He then served with Bulk Transport Shipping Ltd as TECHNICAL MANAGER, TECHNICAL DIRECTOR and DIRECTOR (SHIPPING/TECHNICAL) until 1989. From 1989 until 1997 he served with BT SHIPPING (LONDON) LTD as DIRECTOR (SHIPPING/TECHNICAL).

From 1998 to the present date he operated as an INDEPENDENT CONSULTANT ENGINEER for APC Limited.

He specialises in the inspection of machinery, hull and fixed objects damage.
